Myles Straw cover left and center, respectively. Springer has enjoyed a strong start to the early season, posting a stellar .375/.436/.604 slash line. George Springer (wrist) is dealing with inflammation in his left wrist and is not in the starting lineup for Monday's series opener against the visiting Atlanta Braves at Rogers Centre. The good news is that X-rays that Springer took in Baltimore came back negative, and he's considered day-to-day. He also underwent an MRI exam, which came back negative, and manager John Schneider said Springer would take batting practice and see how he feels. The 35-year-old left Sunday's win over the Orioles after injuring his wrist during an at-bat. Springer has dodged a serious injury, but he won't play on Monday, and fantasy managers will need to check back to see if he's active on Tuesday.
Alan Roden is drawing the start in left field on Monday and is hitting sixth against Braves right-hander
Grant Holmes. He has never faced Holmes in his career.

George Springer (wrist) was removed early during Sunday's game against the Baltimore Orioles. The veteran outfielder appeared to have suffered a left wrist injury during a plate appearance in the fifth inning. He was pulled out of the contest and finished his day 0-for-3 with a strikeout. The assumption is that Springer will undergo further testing to determine the severity of the injury. Springer has been on a tear to start the season, so hopefully this is only a day-to-day type of issue. Fantasy managers will need to check back for another update on his status.

Alan Roden could see more playing time if Springer does miss time.

George Springer had a big night in a 6-2 win over the Boston Red Sox on Monday. Springer went 4-for-4 with a run and three RBI to help propel the Blue Jays to the win over their division rivals. The veteran notched a single in each of his four at-bats, giving him six games with at least two hits in the early going this season. Springer missed Sunday's game after leaving early with back spasms but he appears to be over the issue now. Overall, he's hitting .455 with one homer, five runs, eight RBI, and two steals over 33 at-bats this season. He is worth a spot in fantasy starting lineups while he's hot at the plate.
