George Springer Leaves With Ankle Injury
3 years agoToronto Blue Jays outfielder George Springer left Saturday's contest versus the Mariners early after injuring his ankle while trying to make a leaping catch against the fence. He appeared to land funny on his left ankle after hitting the wall, but he was able to walk off the field under his own power. The club has yet to address any severity of the injury, but he should be considered day-to-day and will likely be absent from Sunday's lineup. Springer has been one of the league's best hitters since the All-Star break with a .318 BA and 11 long balls after missing most of the first half with other injuries, so it would be a heartbreaker for managers to see him miss significant time again.
