George Springer Hoping To Regain Power Stroke In '19
6 years agoHouston Astros outfielder George Springer has only one extra-base hit through 35 spring at-bats heading into the final week before the regular season. Springer is a player trying to rebound from a 22-home run 2018 season after popping 63 home runs the previous two years before that. Most of that can be traced to nagging injuries that led to a .415 slugging percentage in his first 96 games last season. Springer's lack of power in the spring should not be concerning for fantasy owners and the Astros leadoff hitter should be counted on for 25-plus home runs and a slugging percentage closer to his career average of .468 than last season's .434.
