George Springer Agrees To Six-Year Deal With Blue Jays
4 years agoThe Toronto Blue Jays agreed to a six-year, $150 million deal with star outfielder George Springer on Tuesday night, pending a physical. Springer slashed .265/.359/.540 with 14 homers and 32 RBI across 220 plate appearances in 2020 with Houston. The three-time All-Star joins a promising group of young talent in Toronto, which boosts the fantasy value of all parties involved. Springer batted at the top of the order for most of his Astros career, and that is likely to continue with the Blue Jays. The 31-year-old is a worthy selection within the first 50 picks during fantasy drafts in 2021. Springer has only contributed double-digit steals once in his seven-year career, but he should contribute nicely to the rest of the counting stats in one of the best hitter's parks in baseball.
