4 months agoLos Angeles Angels pitching prospect George Klassen has been promoted to Double-A Rocket City. The Angels acquired Klassen from the Phillies in the Carlos Estevez trade and in his only start at Single-A for his new club this past weekend, the righty threw five innings of one-run ball, allowing three hits and three walks while striking out 10 batters. For the season, the 22-year-old sports a 1.96 ERA, a 0.99 WHIP, and 99 strikeouts in just 64 1/3 innings pitched. The former sixth-rounder is looking more and more like the real deal and although MLB.com's Top Prospects list sets his ETA at 2026, it wouldn't be a surprise if he were to make his MLB debut at some point next season.--Jarod Rupp - RotoBaller
