George Kittle Sets Season High In Receptions, Yards
1 year agoSan Francisco 49ers tight end George Kittle had one of his best games of 2023 in a 31-17 home loss to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday. He pulled in nine of 11 targets for 149 yards receiving, all season-highs for Kittle. He was already having a good day, but his final yardage total nearly doubled during the 49ers' penultimate possession with Cincinnati playing soft defense while protecting a large lead. In the drive, Kittle caught three consecutive passes for 79 of his yards. Kittle has been frustrating at times this year but fantasy managers have to appreciate his performance today, which led all 49ers in targets, receptions, and receiving yards. Kittle managers should be thinking about a replacement during the 49ers' Week 9 bye. He'll return to his usual mid-tier TE1 status in Week 10 when the 49ers face the Jaguars on the road, who have allowed the fourth-most tight end fantasy points per game.
