George Kirby Strikes Out Eight In Loss
2 years agoSeattle Mariners starting pitcher George Kirby had a nice night at the office on Saturday, although he was saddled with the loss as his team fell to the Angels 2-1. He allowed two runs on four hits and a walk in the 84-pitch performance, striking out eight batters on the night. Kirby allowed an RBI double to Shohei Ohtani in the first inning, and an RBI groundout in the fourth which ended up being the only two innings that he would allow a base runner. The 24-year-old has been impressive in his rookie season by sporting a 2.98 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, and 123 K through 117 2/3 IP as he'll look to keep it going in his next start versus the Athletics.
