Geno Smith Feeling Better But Status Is Unknown For TNF
12 months agoSeattle Seahawks quarterback Geno Smith (elbow) told reporters on Tuesday that he's feeling "a little bit better" and that "I've had better days, but getting there." Head coach Pete Carroll has told reporters that he will hold Smith out of practice until Wednesday in order to give him extra time to rest his triceps contusion. Smith also told the media that it was up to his head coach to determine if he plays on Thanksgiving night or not. Smith took a hard hit from Rams defensive tackle Aaron Donald in the second half of last Sunday's Week 11 loss. He exited the game for two offensive series before coming back for the Seahawks' final drive, which ended in a Jason Myers' missed field goal as time expired. It sounds like we won't know on whether or not Smith will start on TNF against the San Francisco 49ers until Wednesday at the earliest. If Smith doesn't end up playing then Seattle will turn to backup Drew Lock, who did not look sharp in his two series against the Rams on Sunday. UPDATE: Smith was listed as limited at Tuesday's practice.
