6 years agoUpdating a previous report, New York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez (groin) will not be in the lineup Tuesday and instead will be placed on the disabled list. News broke early Tuesday that he may have aggravated an existing groin injury on Monday, the same injury that he returned from last week. An MRI on Tuesday revealed the injury, and the Yankees are sending Sanchez back to the shelf. Austin Romine will continue to receive primary catcher duties, while Kyle Higashioka should expect a call up soon for support. Romine has hit and caught well in part-time duty this season, and will have streaming appeal if the matchup is right.--Mauricio Castillo
