Gary Sanchez Hits 16th Homer
3 years agoNew York Yankees catcher Gary Sanchez belted his 16th homer of the season in Saturday's win over the Boston Red Sox. Sanchez's blast left the bat at 103.4 MPH and traveled 362 feet, one of two home runs for New York in the inning. The slugging backstop has been one of the better power hitters at his position, though the .217 batting average is admittedly hard to stomach. Few catchers have the upside to go on homer streaks the way Sanchez often can, such as in June, when he left the yard eight times. He should remain a top-five catcher option for the rest of the season.
