Gary Sanchez Breaks Deadlock With Home Run
6 years agoOn Monday night, the New York Yankees and Minnesota Twins engaged in what began as a tight, scoreless battle. Through the first five innings of the game, the teams had failed to score any runs, but in the sixth, it would be broken. Yankees starting catcher Gary Sanchez smacked a long home run to left, putting his club ahead for good. It was one of three hits on the night for the struggling former All-Star, who had a fine game working with J.A. Happ behind home plate. Sanchez's play has been dreadful all season and it would be inaccurate to say his spot in the starting lineup is safe when October comes around.
