Garrett Whitlock's Tests Come Back Clean Tuesday
2 years agoBoston Red Sox right-hander Garrett Whitlock (elbow) went to see a doctor on Tuesday regarding his elbow injury, and according to Jen McCaffrey of The Athletic, there is no ulnar nerve damage. The former Rule 5 draft pick experienced pain in his right elbow after his last start on April 22 and was consequently sent to the injured list. That's great news for the Red Sox and fantasy owners, as he likely won't need an extended absence. The 26-year-old has posted a 6.19 ERA, 1.38 WHIP, and 16.9% strikeout rate with one victory over three starts, disappointing numbers for a guy who owns a 3.06 ERA and 25.8% strikeout rate over his career, but fantasy managers can be patient with him in deeper leagues.
