Garrett Mitchell Hits Third Homer Of Spring Tuesday
2 years agoMilwaukee Brewers outfielder Garrett Mitchell continued to flash surprising power this spring in Tuesday's 5-2 loss to the White Sox. The 24-year-old went 1-for-3 with a solo home run, his third of the spring. He has gotten off to a strong start this spring, batting .353 in 17 at-bats. Mitchell is set to serve as the center fielder for the Brewers in 2023 after slashing .311/.373/.459 with two HR and eight stolen bases in 68 plate appearances in his debut in 2022. While he is an intriguing fantasy option and does possess a good deal of speed, Mitchell has never hit for much power. It also should not be expected that he will be able to hit for such a high average over the course of his first full season. However, he is well worth a look with a current average draft position of 307.
