2 years agoChicago White Sox pitcher Garrett Crochet (elbow) has been reinstated from the 10-day injured list and will make his long-awaited return to action following Tommy John surgery in April of 2022. In a corresponding move, right-hander Nicholas Padilla was optioned to Triple-A Charlotte. Crochet, the 11th overall pick of the 2020 draft, hasn't pitched since October of 2021 after being fast-tracked to the big leagues as a flame-throwing left-handed reliever. He made his MLB debut the same year in which he was drafted, while he's compiled a 2.54 ERA and 29% strikeout rate across 59 career outings out of the White Sox bullpen. He will certainly be welcomed back with open arms considering White Sox relievers have combined for a 5.97 ERA this season, good for 29th in all of baseball.--Brenton Kemp
