Garrett Cleavinger Likely Out For The Season
2 years agoTampa Bay Rays left-hander Garrett Cleavinger (knee) is dealing with a torn right ACL in his knee and is likely out for the rest of the season. Cleavinger collided with New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Hicks in the game on Sunday and will now face a long rehab. The 29-year-old southpaw was proving to be a key piece of Tampa's bullpen so far this year, posting a 3.00 ERA (4.94 FIP), 1.00 WHIP, six walks and 14 strikeouts in 12 innings over his 15 relief appearances. He was even better in 13 relief outings for the Rays in 2022 with a 2.41 ERA (1.77 FIP), 0.64 WHIP, four walks and 25 strikeouts in 18 2/3 innings pitched.
