Game Script Could Impact Josh Jacobs This Week
5 years agoOakland Raiders running back Josh Jacobs had an outstanding NFL debut Monday, and he will look to keep the momentum going in Week 2 versus the Kansas City Chiefs. The first-round rookie was used as the bell cow in Week 1, and Head Coach Jon Gruden already emphasized his workload is going to continue on this path. The bad news is the Raiders will likely be playing from behind instead of ahead causing them to throw the ball more often to catch up. Jacobs caught one pass last week, albeit for 28 yards, but we're still uncertain how much he'll be involved in the passing game in the early weeks. With Jalen Richard already established as a reliable pass-catching weapon, he may eat into the rookie's fantasy value this week. Jacobs is still in play as an RB2, but the floor is lower in this matchup.
