Gabriel Landeskog Ruled Out For Entire 2023-24 NHL Season
2 years agoColorado Avalanche left wing Gabriel Landeskog (knee) will miss the entire 2023-24 NHL season as he will undergo a cartilage transplant in his right knee on May 10, the team announced on Tuesday. It is an unfortunate situation for Landeskog, who missed the entire 2022-23 season due to a knee injury that he suffered last season on the way to the Avalanche becoming the Stanley Cup champions. Landeskog had arthroscopic knee surgery in October and was expected to miss 12 weeks at the start the campaign, but the recovery did not go as planned and he was later ruled out for the remainder of the regular season and playoffs. Landeskog has six years remaining on the eight-year, $56 million deal that he signed prior to the 2021-22 season, and the captain will be placed on long-term injured reserve to allow the Avalanche to make free agent additions this summer.
