Gabriel Arias Fractures Hand At Triple-A
3 years agoCleveland Guardians shortstop prospect Gabriel Arias (hand) fractured the fifth metacarpal in his right hand during Sunday's game at Triple-A. He is in the midst of undergoing tests, but he will be placed on the injured list and he is expected to be sidelined for several weeks. The 22-year-old is rated as the team's No. 3 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline. He made his MLB debut this year, playing in two games before being sent back to Triple-A. He's been struggling at the plate at Triple-A this year, slashing just .197/.269/.380, but there's a decent chance we'll see him up in the majors again before the end of the 2022 season.
