Furkan Korkmaz Scores 40 Points In Summer League
6 years agoPhiladelphia 76ers shooting guard Furkan Korkmaz played in just 14 games as a rookie while dealing with a Lisfranc injury and he didn't show a whole lot while he was on the floor, averaging just 1.6 points in 5.7 minutes per game, but after one game of the 2018 Las Vegas Summer League, Korkmaz's name is on everyone's tongues. On Friday, the second-year guard from Turkey scored 40 points on 10-for-18 shooting and went 8-for-14 from three. He grabbed six rebounds as well. With the 76ers looking to improve on their 2017-2018 performance, Korkmaz isn't guaranteed to see the court much, but he should be able to carve out a role as a shooter off the bench for Philadelphia. His main value comes in dynasty leagues, because Korkmaz is under contract or can be retained via a team option through the 2021-2022 season and could end up replacing J.J. Redick once his contract expires at the end of this upcoming season.
