Toronto Maple Leafs No. 1 goaltender Frederik Andersen will not suit up to take on the Montreal Canadiens on Saturday night, as Leafs backup goalie Curtis McElhinney will start the match. Andersen last played on Wednesday, March 14, leaving the match with an upper-body injury, and he has not practiced since. Toronto head coach Mike Babcock does not seem terribly concerned about Andersen’s injury, especially with the Leafs maintaining a firm grip on third place in the Atlantic division this season. Andersen could be rested more often as the playoffs approach, allowing him to fully heal and rest as much as possible heading into the postseason. McElhinney has earned two wins since Andersen’s injury and will probably share starts with the No. 1 netminder once he’s healthy.--Alex McKenzie
