Frederik Andersen Heads To Carolina
3 years agoUnrestricted free agent goalie Frederik Andersen said goodbye to the Toronto Maples Leafs and signed a two-year contract with the Carolina Hurricanes. The contract comes with a $4.5 million AAV. The club also added another veteran goalie in Antti Raanta. Just a few months ago, Carolina had three goalies and not enough playing time to go around. All three of those players are now gone and the club brought in two goalies coming off injury issues, which could create all sorts of headaches for Carolina. Andersen played in 60 or more games each year between 2016-17 and 2018-19. Last year, however, injuries kept him to just 24 appearances and he struggled with an .895 save percentage and 2.96 GAA. If he's healthy, the 31-year-old native of Denmark has fantasy upside.
