Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen exited Sunday's Game 4 against the New Jersey Devils with an apparent injury. Pyotr Kochetkov replaced Andersen in the crease during the second period after he was involved in a collision with Devils forward Timo Meier. Andersen saved six of seven shots before exiting. The Hurricanes No. 1 has been in superb form during the postseason, as he entered Sunday's contest with a 1.48 goals-against average and a .943 save percentage. Losing him for an extended stretch would be a blow for the Hurricanes, although Kochetkov has proven himself as a capable performer, posting a 27-16-3 record during the regular season.

Carolina Hurricanes goaltender Frederik Andersen stopped 25 of 26 shots in Tuesday's 3-1 victory over the New Jersey Devils in Game 2 of the first-round series. Andersen was beaten early on by Jesper Bratt, but he went on to make 21 consecutive saves to help Carolina take a 2-0 lead in the matchup. This was a special win for Andersen, as he became the fifth active goaltender to reach 40 career postseason victories. Carolina's No. 1 had a rough end to the regular season and finished the campaign with a sub-.900 save percentage, but he has been a rock at the back for the team during the playoffs. Andersen has given up only two goals to the Devils with a .960 save percentage.

After winning six of his first seven appearances this season, Andersen has struggled as of late. He enters Sunday's action with a 1-4-0 run. The Danish netminder suffered four losses in a row before defeating the Detroit Red Wings 2-1 with 24 saves on Tuesday. Winnipeg leads the Western Conference and boasts the third-best scoring record in the league, making this a very difficult matchup for Andersen.
