Freddy Galvis Provides Bulk of Offense in Padres Loss
7 years agoMaking his San Diego Padres debut after six seasons with Philadelphia, shortstop Freddy Galvis went 2-4 with a walk and an RBI in the Padres loss to the Milwaukee Brewers. Galvis drove in the game-tying run with two outs in the bottom of the ninth inning, sending the game into extra innings. He could be an interesting waiver wire add this season to fill in for injuries, as he hit .253 and averaged 13 home runs and 14 stolen bases over the last three seasons. The one potential knock against Galvis is he was hitting seventh in the lineup against Milwaukee. If he stays in the bottom of the lineup, that will impact any potential value he has, so for now owners should keep an eye on him but maybe not pick him up just yet.
