Freddie Freeman Hits Game-Tying Homer Thursday
3 years agoAtlanta Braves first baseman Freddie Freeman hit a game-tying home run in the top of the ninth to force extra innings, as he finished the game 2-for-5 with one RBI and a run scored in a 4-3 loss to the Phillies. It's been a rough year at the plate for the reigning NL MVP, as he is now slashing .228/.350/.447 over 59 games, however he has still managed to slug 14 homers with 33 RBI and 39 runs scored. Despite Thursday's performance, Freeman has been slumping over his last 15 games where he has slashed .218/.338/.364 with two homers, five RBI and 11 runs scored. Hopefully Thursday's homer can help jumpstart his bat, and he'll look to keep things rolling on Friday against the Marlins.
