Fred VanVleet Makes History With 54-Point Performance
4 years agoToronto Raptors guard Fred Vanvleet put on an incredible show Tuesday against Orlando, finishing a 123-108 win with 11 triples and a franchise-record 54 points. It also marks the most points ever scored by an undrafted player in the NBA, Moses Malone held the previous record with 53 points. VanVleet missed only six of 23 shots from the field and went 9-for-9 at the charity stripe with three rebounds, three steals, three blocks, and a pair of assists in 37 minutes. He had just posted a nine-point dud against the Magic on Sunday, so this was a bounce-back effort for the ages. He has the perfect matchup for staying hot on Friday when Toronto takes on a Nets team that has been the worst defensive side in the league since the James Harden trade.
