Franmil Reyes Returns to the Lineup
6 years agoSan Diego Padres outfielder Franmil Reyes will return to the starting lineup for Wednesday's game against the Miami Marlins. Reyes was scratched before Tuesday's game, but it's unclear why he didn't play. He'll bat cleanup and play right field versus righty Trevor Richards. Reyes has 26 home runs this season, so he's always a threat to go deep.

Franmil Reyes Designated For Assignment
2 years agoThe Kansas City Royals designated outfielder Franmil Reyes for assignment on Monday to make room for right-hander James McArthur on the 40-man roster. The Royals acquired McArthur from the Philadelphia Phillies in exchange for minor-league outfielder Junior Marin and cash considerations. Reyes was optioned to Triple-A Omaha last week after a rough start to the 2023 season. The 27-year-old right-handed power hitter went just 11-for-59 (.186) with two home runs, seven RBI, four walks and 24 strikeouts in 65 plate appearances and 19 games before the Royals cut him. Reyes hit 30 homers as recently as 2021 with the Cleveland Guardians, but it remains to be seen if he'll be able to make it back to the big leagues at this point.

Franmil Reyes Sent To Minors
2 years agoThe Kansas City Royals optioned outfielder Franmil Reyes to Triple-A Omaha before Tuesday's game. The move came after Reyes started to see a drop in playing time because of his struggles at the plate. The 27-year-old right-handed slugger struck out 36.9 percent of the time and had a .186/.231/.288 slash line with just two home runs, seven RBI, five runs scored and 24 strikeouts in 65 plate appearances and 19 games for the Royals. It's been a long fall for Reyes, who hit 30 home runs with the Cleveland Guardians in 2021. Especially if Reyes continues to strike out a ton in the minors, he could be a candidate to be designated for assignment. Fantasy managers should have moved on a long time ago.

Franmil Reyes Placed On Paternity Leave List
2 years agoKansas City Royals outfielder Franmil Reyes has been placed on the paternity leave list on Friday. The right-handed slugger is expected to miss two or three games while he's away from the team. In the meantime, catcher Freddy Fermin has been recalled from the minors. He appeared in three games last season, but is still seeking his first career hit. Fantasy managers can ignore Fermin as he's expected to serve as depth on the roster.
