Frankie Montas To Start On Opening Day
4 years agoOakland Athletics starting pitcher Frankie Montas will be the team's Opening Day starter, according to manager Bob Melvin. Montas said he expects to be able to go up to 90 pitches, so he won't be a popular DFS play against a good Angels lineup. His season-long prospects look much better, though, as he is coming off his best season in the Majors. Before his suspension for performance-enhancing drugs, Montas pitched to a 2.63 ERA backed up by a 3.00 FIP in 96 innings with 103 strikeouts. He is a good SP3 for fantasy to target in the middle rounds of fantasy drafts.
