3 years agoChicago Cubs first baseman Frank Schwindel is absent from the starting lineup for Thursday's game against right-hander Kyle Wright and the Atlanta Braves. Alfonso Rivas will be manning first base and batting sixth in the game. Schwindel has been struggling at the plate over the first few weeks of the season. He's slashing .239/.271/.373 with two home runs, nine RBI and five runs scored. His underlying stats unfortunately don't inspire much confidence, either. He has a 27.8% hard-hit rate (15th percentile) and he's managed just one barrel over 54 batted balls.--Andrew Ericksen - RotoBaller
