Franco Aleman May Require Surgery
26 seconds agoCleveland Guardians pitching prospect Franco Aleman (hernia) is dealing with an inguinal hernia and may have to undergo surgery. Aleman had an appointment on Tuesday to see the extent of the injury but has yet to receive an official diagnosis. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his process but an operation would delay his MLB debut for the foreseeable future. Aleman made his professional debut during the 2022 campaign and reached Triple-A last summer. During the 2024 campaign, the right-hander posted a strong 1.99 ERA with a 1.06 WHIP across 22 2/3 innings of relief with Triple-A Columbus. He tallied an impressive 34 punchouts and served up just 10 free passes. In 2023, he tossed 24 innings with a perfect ERA and a 0.58 WHIP at Double-A. He will likely earn a spot in the major league bullpen when cleared for action.
