Francisco Lindor's MRI Is Encouraging, Could Be Available Saturday
1 year agoNew York Mets shortstop Francisco Lindor's (side) MRI results came back with "pretty good news, all things considered," according to manager Buck Showalter. Lindor isn't in the lineup for Game 1 of a doubleheader on Saturday against the Atlanta Braves, but Showalter hasn't ruled out Lindor's availability for either game. Jonathan Arauz is making his second straight start at shortstop in Game 1 on Saturday and is hitting in the nine-hole against Braves right-hander Allan Winans. Fantasy managers shouldn't expect Lindor to start in Game 2, but the fact that he's available at all should mean he can avoid a trip to the injured list. The 29-year-old Puerto Rican has been much better since the All-Star break and is now hitting .246/.333/.469 with an .803 OPS, 22 home runs, 69 RBI, 18 stolen bases and 72 runs scored in 114 games in 2023.
