Francisco Cervelli Exits Game With Wrist Injury After HBP
6 years agoPittsburgh Pirates catcher Francisco Cervelli was hit on the wrist by a 93 mph sinker from Rangers starting pitcher Adrian Sampson. Cervelli attempted to stay in the game, but after a couple of pitches he retreated to the dugout. Elias Diaz took over catching duties for the Pirates. Cervelli has not provided much fantasy value this season, as his OPS is a paltry .479. Diaz, however, has managed just one hit in 12 at-bats on the season. Cervelli has provided value in on-base percentage leagues in recent years, so if you own the Pirates catcher, you’ll want to look outside of Pittsburgh for his replacement if he is to miss time with the wrist injury.
