Francisco Cervelli Drives In Three Runs On Friday
4 years agoMiami Marlins catcher Francisco Cervelli had a nice game on Friday, driving in three runs with a second inning home run. It ended up being his only hit in the game, but that'll do for the Marlins and for his fantasy owners. Cervelli is hitting .227 with an .837 OPS. His true value comes from the way he handles the makeshift Marlins pitching staff, but he has the pop to occasionally put a ball over the fence. Once Jorge Alfaro (COVID-19) returns, Cervelli will return to a part-time role, but until then, he'll continue to serve as the Marlins starting catcher.
