2 years agoThe New York Mets are planning to call up catcher Francisco Alvarez on Friday to begin their weekend series with the Cincinnati Reds. The Mets are playing it safe at the catcher position after starter Omar Narvaez left Wednesday's game with a calf injury. Alvarez is considered one of the Mets' top prospects and is worth an add off of waivers in deeper leagues as he would be New York's starting catcher if Narvaez's injury keeps him out for an extended time.--Matt T - RotoBaller
