1 year agoCalgary Flames prospect Topi Ronni is currently being investigated for a sexual assault that occurred two years ago in his native Finland. The 19-year-old informed his Finnish Elite League team that he was being investigated and is stepping away from team activities immediately. Drafted with the Flames' second-round pick in the 2022 NHL Entry Draft, Ronni has notched one goal and one assist across 12 games with Sm-liiga's Tappara Tampere after collecting two goals and five points across 22 games with the club last season. The Flames released a statement on Thursday confirming the news while noting they will avoid further comment until the legal process plays out.--Brenton Kemp
