2 years agoSan Diego Padres superstar Fernando Tatis Jr. (knee) is hopeful to return to the lineup on Monday. Tatis was held out of Sunday's action against the Oakland A's after sustaining a knee injury on Saturday. Manager Bob Melvin is expecting the 24-year-old to return tomorrow. Tatis is eligible to return on April 20th but is doing everything he can to prepare for the season. He has played in seven spring training games, which is sufficient time to get his feet wet. The Dominican last played professionally over a year ago; the rust has been evident this spring. He has amassed just two hits and is riding a .105 clip. Getting him on track should be the primary task for the Padres once he is cleared to return.--Rephael Negnewitzky
