Fernando Tatis Jr. Crushes 27th Homer
3 years agoSan Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. went 1-for-5 with a solo homer in a 7-5 loss to the Washington Nationals on Monday. The 22-year-old hit his National League-leading 27th bomb off of Nationals starting pitcher Jon Lester during the fourth inning. The blast was also the newly minted All-Star's hardest-hit ball of the season, with an exit velocity of 116 mph. Tatis is in the midst of an MVP-caliber season, posting 27 homers, 58 RBI, 66 runs and 18 stolen bases with a .302/.385/.698 line over 68 games. Even more tantalizing, the Padres superstar has a 162-game average of 51 homers, 120 RBI, 136 runs and 35 stolen bases. He is just scratching the surface of what should be a brilliant career.
