Fernando Rodney Picks Up Win On Tuesday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins closer Fernando Rodney picked up the win on Monday against the Cleveland Indians. It was a bullpen day for the Twins as starter Ervin Santana only lasted 5 1/3 innings. The Twins would go on to use another five pitchers, including Rodney. The veteran closer came into a tied game in the ninth inning and — in typical Rodney fashion — made the outing interesting by walking two batters, but struck out two on his way towards a clean inning. The Twins then walked off in the bottom of the ninth. Rodney has had an exciting July, with his owners undoubtedly sweating with each of his appearances in the month. It remains to be seen whether he will still be on the Twins when the trade deadline has come and gone.
