Fernando Rodney Escapes Trouble In 11th Inning Wednesday
6 years agoMinnesota Twins closer Fernando Rodney came into Wednesday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays in the 11th inning in a non-save situation and immediately found himself in trouble. With two men on — one of them on third base — and one out, Rodney managed to induce a double-play ground ball to secure the Twins' 12-6 victory. This performance comes after allowing two runs in another non-save situation on July 23. Rodney has been rumored as a trade chip as of late, so it remains to be seen if the Twins keep or move him. If he is moved before the July 31 deadline, his value will decrease if he doesn't end up closing on his new team. As of this writing however, he is still the closer on a team that is officially on a three-game win streak, so his value remains the same.
