Ezekiel Elliott Unlikely to be Extended This Season
5 years agoDallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott is unlikely to have his contract extended this season, according to several reports. The Cowboys started talking to Elliott about keeping him around long term this offseason, but Amari Cooper and Dak Prescott will take precedence over Elliott. Once Cooper and Prescott's contracts are taken care off, the Cowboys will go in harder on Elliott. For now, he's under team control for another two seasons and he may end up being a candidate for the 2021 franchise tag. With Elliott's off-field issues, a long-term deal may be a scary situation for Dallas.
