Ezekiel Elliott Takes A Back Seat In Week 2
3 years agoDallas Cowboys running back Ezekiel Elliott played decently in Week 2, but he took a back seat to a more explosive and impressive back in Tony Pollard. Zeke still led the team in touches, running the ball 16 times for 71 yards and a score while adding two catches on his two targets for 26 yards through the air. The Chargers defense was giving the Cowboys nothing through the air, so they focused their offense on the ground game and featured both Elliott and Pollard, with Pollard picking up 43 more yards despite two fewer touches. Elliott was still the starter and should see the most usage moving forward, but while it was a good sign for the Cowboys to see Pollard shine, it was certainly not great news for fantasy managers relying on Elliott as a starter. It will be interesting to see the game plan in Week 3 when the Cowboys take on the Philadelphia Eagles on Monday Night Football.
