Expectations High For Ross Chastain In 2024
1 year agoIt's about to be put up or shut up time for Ross Chastain. With four NASCAR Cup Series victories over the last two seasons--including a dominating effort in the season finale at Phoenix last November--Chastain is now considered one of the top drivers in the sport, and a legitimate Championship contender by many. But Trackhouse Racing regressed quite a bit during the 2023 season. Chastain's average finish dropped to 15.0 (from 13.3 the year prior) and he posted only 10 top-five finishes (down from 15 the year prior). His teammate, Daniel Suarez, didn't even make the Playoffs last season. NASCAR's new "bad boy" should have a boost of confidence after finishing the 2023 season so strong. Now he needs to take that and get a hot start out of the gate for 2024.
