Expectations High For Ross Chastain In 2024
10 months agoIt's about to be put up or shut up time for Ross Chastain. With four NASCAR Cup Series victories over the last two seasons--including a dominating effort in the season finale at Phoenix last November--Chastain is now considered one of the top drivers in the sport, and a legitimate Championship contender by many. But Trackhouse Racing regressed quite a bit during the 2023 season. Chastain's average finish dropped to 15.0 (from 13.3 the year prior) and he posted only 10 top-five finishes (down from 15 the year prior). His teammate, Daniel Suarez, didn't even make the Playoffs last season. NASCAR's new "bad boy" should have a boost of confidence after finishing the 2023 season so strong. Now he needs to take that and get a hot start out of the gate for 2024.
