Evgeny Kuznetsov Returns To Action With Power-Play Goal
4 years agoWashington Capitals center Evgeny Kuznetsov (COVID protocol) was finally back in the lineup on Sunday, finishing a 6-3 loss to Pittsburgh with a power-play goal. It took him only 5:18 of action to leave a mark on the game. Jakub Vrana, who also spent some time on the COVID-19 list, made a productive return as well with an even-strength goal. Nicklas Backstrom notched his seventh of the year to wrap up Washington's scoring. Kuznetsov was off to a solid start to the season before getting sidelined due to COVID-19. He admitted to having symptoms of the virus and said this week that his conditioning needs some work, but he logged a season-high 18:24 on Sunday, so fantasy managers can safely reinsert him back into their lineups. Kuznetsov now has two goals and four points in three games against Pittsburgh this season, and the two teams will face off again on Tuesday.
