Everson Griffen Not Ruling Out Return To Minnesota
5 years agoFree-agent defensive end Everson Griffen, who took a leave of absence from the Vikings in 2018 to deal with mental-health issues, is in a good place mentally now and said he'd "never say never" on a possible return to Minnesota despite saying goodbye to the team on his social media last month. The 32-year-old recorded eight sacks in a bounce-back 2019 season and is one of the top pass-rushers on the market next to Jadeveon Clowney. Griffen has 57 sacks over the last six seasons, but his market has been cold, in part because free-agent visits and physicals have been canceled to the coronavirus. While a return to the Vikings seems unlikely, Griffen could still be an effective pass-rusher on the wrong side of 30. It could be a while before he signs, though, and he might be waiting to see what Clowney can fetch as a free agent.
