Evan Phillips Picks Up His Second Save Friday
8 months agoLos Angeles Dodgers closer Evan Phillips earned a save Friday in a 6-3 win over the Cardinals. The 29-year-old retired all three batters he faced, striking out one and picking up his second save of the season, the first of which came in the Seoul Series over a week ago. He's yet to allow a hit through his first two appearances and has two total Ks now. The righty was superb for the Dodgers last season and is riding some strong spring momentum into the regular season. Phillips gave up one hit in his first spring appearance, but not a single hit over his next five, ending the spring with a 0.00 ERA and 1:9 BB:K in six IP. He's a top-12 option at the position with some upside pitching for one of the best teams in baseball.
