Evan Phillips Earns First Save Of 2023
2 years agoLos Angeles Dodgers reliever Evan Phillips pitched a clean final two outs of Tuesday's 5-2 win over the Colorado Rockies to pick up his first save of the season. He allowed no baserunners and owns a 0.00 ERA with no strikeouts or walks across two innings of work. Coming into 2023, Phillips was one of the leading candidates to close out games. Andre Jackson notched the first save of the Dodgers season, but after the former posted a 1.14 ERA, 0.76 WHIP, and 33.0% strikeout rate with a pair of saves last season, he should be the number one option going forward. Phillips needs to be rostered and started in every format with the potential to provide value in four categories.
