Evan Longoria Goes Deep Saturday
6 years agoSan Francisco Giants third baseman Evan Longoria went 1-for-4 with a solo home run in Saturday's 2-1 extra-inning loss to the Mets. Longoria put the first run of the game on the board by hitting a towering fly ball into the center-field seats off of a fourth-inning Steven Matz fastball. The veteran is now hitting .244 with 15 HR and 46 RBI in 412 plate appearances this season. The source of Longoria's fantasy value the past few seasons has been his consistent playing time and ability to stay healthy. His hand injury, increasing age, and move to a pitcher-friendly park have made Longoria a streamable player at best this season except in deep corner infield leagues.
