5 months agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram saved his fantasy day with a late touchdown in a 30-27 loss to the Green Bay Packers. The veteran tight end finished with four catches for 36 yards and a touchdown, which he scored to tie the game with a minute and 48 seconds left in the fourth quarter. Engram was outgained by backup tight end Brenton Strange, who finished with five receptions (team-high) and 59 yards (1 off the team lead). While it is reassuring Engram caught a touchdown, he has been very up and down this season. After missing a few games, Engram returned with a 10 reception performance, but now has just nine receptions combined in the last two games. Despite that, Engram should be considered a top tight end play in fantasy in Week 9 against the Philadelphia Eagles.--Seth Quinn - RotoBaller

6 days agoTwo-time Pro Bowl tight end Evan Engram is visiting with the Los Angeles Chargers on Tuesday, a source told NFL Network's Tom Pelissero. After being cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars last week, Engram is making the rounds and also visited with the Denver Broncos as he looks to sign with a new team in free agency. After the New Orleans Saints re-signed Juwan Johnson Tuesday, Engram is the top tight end available on the market this offseason. The 30-year-old former 23rd overall pick in 2017 by the New York Giants out of Mississippi had a career year in Jacksonville in 2023 with a 114-963-4 line but only played in nine games in 2024 due to a season-ending shoulder injury and finished with a disappointing 47 catches (64 targets) for 365 yards and one TD. Denver's top TE is Adam Trautman, while the Chargers' is Will Dissly. With either team, Engram could be primed for a bounce-back season as a TE1 in fantasy.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

1 week agoFree-agent tight end Evan Engram is visiting with the Denver Broncos on Monday, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter. The 30-year-old was recently released by the Jacksonville Jaguars after two seasons with the organization and is free to sign with a new team before the new league year begins on March 12. Engram had the best season of his career in 2023, catching 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns in 17 games. The former first-round pick by the New York Giants in 2017 was limited to just nine games in 2024 and caught 47 passes for 365 yards and one score. Head coach Sean Payton has lacked a game-changing tight end since he arrived in Denver, so this could be a perfect match as the team looks to upgrade its pass-catching weapons for rising quarterback Bo Nix.--Jackson Sparks - RotoBaller

2 weeks agoThe Jacksonville Jaguars released tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) on Thursday, per multiple reports. Engram was scheduled to make $14.75 million in 2025, with none of it being guaranteed, but the new coaching staff and front office apparently have decided to move on. The move to cut Engram comes just after the organization traded wide receiver Christian Kirk (collarbone) to the division-rival Houston Texans in exchange for a seventh-round selection in 2026. Engram had a career year in his second year in Jacksonville in 2023 with a 114-963-4 line in 17 games (15 starts) but only ended up playing in nine games in 2024 due to a torn labrum in his left shoulder that required season-ending surgery in mid-December. Jacksonville will free up $5.98 million in salary cap space with Engram's release. Brenton Strange is now their top TE, but the Jags could address the position in free agency or the 2025 NFL draft.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller

3 months agoJacksonville Jaguars tight end Evan Engram (shoulder) underwent surgery on Monday to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder. It was already announced that Engram would miss the rest of the 2024 season with his injury, but head coach Doug Pederson said he is expected to be back for spring workouts. The 30-year-old was placed on Injured Reserve last weekend, officially ending his season. After a career year in 2023 with the Jags in which he caught 114 passes for 963 yards and four touchdowns, Engram finishes 2024 with 47 catches, 365 receiving yards and only one touchdown in nine starts. It just wasn't meant to be for Jacksonville this year, and it didn't help Engram's cause that quarterback Trevor Lawrence couldn't stay healthy. Engram will be heading into the final year of his three-year, $41.25 million extension in 2025.--Keith Hernandez - RotoBaller
