Ethan Small Shut Down From Throwing For Two Weeks
3 years agoMilwaukee Brewers starting pitcher Ethan Small (finger) will be shut down from throwing for the next two weeks due to a strained tendon in his left middle finger, according to Adam McCalvy of MLB.com. The top pitching prospect in Milwaukee's system according to MLB Pipeline, Small will likely miss close to a month due to the shut down followed by a build up period to get him back in game shape. Prior to the injury he'd been having a great year between Double-A and Triple-A, going 3-2 with a 1.77 ERA, 1.214 WHIP and 32.4 percent strikeout rate over 56 innings. If he can get back in time, there's a chance he could make a few starts in Milwaukee before the end of the year, so managers should keep an eye out on him.
