Ethan Salas Promoted To High-A Fort Wayne
1 year agoSan Diego Padres catching prospect Ethan Salas debuted with High-A Fort Wayne on Wednesday, recording a hit in five at-bats. At 17 years old, Salas is the youngest to play at High-A this season and the youngest ever to play for the Fort Wayne affiliate. Before his call-up, he posted an impressive .267/.350/.487 slash line with nine home runs across 48 appearances with Single-A Lake Elsinore. Possessing offensive and defensive abilities well beyond his age, Salas is already the second-ranked prospect in the Padres farm system and the top-ranked prospect in the 2023 international class, per MLB Pipeline. He's several years away from a major-league debut, though fantasy managers will want to get familiar with the teenage phenom.
