Ethan Salas Picks Up Two Hits In Minor-League Debut
1 year agoSan Diego Padres catcher Ethan Salas made his pro debut with Single-A Lake Elsinore Tuesday, skipping rookie league play. He collected a double, a single, and a walk in four plate appearances, scoring a run as well. Scouts laud the 16-year-old for his mature approach at the plate, raw power, and skill on the field and basepaths. With the transition to the pro leagues being perilous for many, especially international players, it's encouraging to see Salas succeeding immediately. He is years away from sniffing the MLB, but the baseball prodigy is quickly becoming one of the best prospects in the dynasty format.
